Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera sahabat sekalian. Terlebih dahulu saya ingin memohon maaf kerana dah lama tak update sebarang post di blog ini..huhu dah bersawang,berhabuk blog ni. Sementara ada waktu yang terluang ini, saya akan kembalikan keceriaan blog yang terbengkalai ini. Jadi mari kita mulakan. Bismilillah.

Saya ada berita gembira yang ingin saya kongsikan. Jeng jeng jeng.. Alhamdulillah, saya dah lulus peperiksaan akhir untuk tahun akhir sebagai pelajar perubatan. Ini bermakna saya akan graduate tidak lama lagi.. yeahhh finally I did it !

so macam biasa, mari kita throwback sambungan posting yang lepas okay. "But this time can you make it short, sweet and simple fairuza ? coz your previous posts were too lengthy..I couldn't stand reading them all" - says by some of you . nahh dont worry ! This time I WILL try my best make it they way you want okay sayang ? (Semoga Fairuza tak tulis merepek/melalut aminn)

POSTING G : O&G

Posting yang paling mencabar.. physically, mentally and emotionally tested ! but I survived. Terima kasih ya Allah ! T_T On call every other day means we need to our on call twice a week without post call day off.. On call means you have to be on stand by in labour ward for 24 hours ! nak nangisss..
apa yang kami (pelajar perubatan/helper) buat ? basically we did most of the things. dari clerk patient, pasang CTG, pasang line dan ambil darah, bancuh milo untuk patient, lap peluh patient, cari selimut untuk patient's husband, basuh najis patient, bagi pinjam tangan untuk patient tahan waktu contraction sementara husband tolong urut belakang (this is a bad idea ! boleh patah tangan kena ramas waktu contraction datang) conduct/assist a delivery, jadi supportive team waktu active phase "push panjang panjang puan ! sikit lagi you can do this puan !", cuci placenta (uri) baby dan sebagainya.

waktu posting ni tahu lah bertapa susahnya seorang ibu melahirkan anak, menanggung sakit contraction yang berjam lamanya.. air cond labour suite temperature 16C tapi patient still berpeluh-peluh bila contraction.. can't you imagine how bad is the pain? itu baru sakit contraction, belum sakit jahit episiotomy lagi. apa yang boleh saya katakan di sini ialah sayangilah ibu kita walau siapa pun dia kerana pengorbanan seorang insan yang bergelar ibu ini tidak ternilai.

dan di sini juga saya dapat lihat terlatah si suami semasa menunggu isterinya bersalin. okay part ni lawak ! ada yang pengsan tengok darah, ada yang jadi cheerleader dalam ward "I love you baby, you can do this go go go.. I can see our baby's head now", ada yang muntah bau air ketuban tapi still nak stay dalam bilik teman si isteri dan sebagainya.

Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera semua ! dah lama tak menaip/berceloteh di blog ni, rasa janggal pula huhu. Untuk entry kali ini saya ingin menceritakan perjalanan saya sebagai pelajar perubatan tahun tiga. So lets us begin !

Gambar wajib ni setiap tahun kena bergambar dekat sini.. haha

Kami dibahagikan kepada 6 kumpulan yang terdiri daripada 20 atau 21 pelajar setiap kumpulan. Setiap kumpulan kecil ini akan rotate posting setiap 2 bulan.

Posting A : Psychiatric Medicine

PSY ? Yup, this was my first posting. Teruja nak belajar benda baru macam schizophrenia, bipolar, OCD dan banyak lagi. Takut juga pada masa yang sama,"macam mana kalau kena tumbuk dengan manic patient ?, macam mana nak mulakan perbualan dengan patient psy?" At first memang susah, focus tu asyik lari entah ke mana bila cakap dengan patient. Once they start talking, it will takes you about 2 to 3 hours until you can say 'i think that's enough for today'. kejap kejap lawan dengan dinasour lah, batman lah last last siapa menang siapa kalah pun tak tahu hahah. For me listening is one of the most important skills you can have. How well you listen has a major impact on your history taking effectiveness, and on the quality of your relationships with your patients, dah macam tulis reflective essay dah pun hahah. At the end of this posting, I improved my listening skill. I can barely listen to a bipolar patient with lots of his fighting scenes and superpower for 2 hours. best kan?

This was the time juga I learned how to build trust with patient. Bukan senang nak suruh patient cerita kenapa dia bunuh diri, macam mana dia nak bunuh diri. Kadang-kadang tu patient cerita lain dalam case note lain. hmm..

and they even celebrated my birthday ! Im so touched.

Goodbye room 11 and 12, goodbye moments of getting up so early in the morning just to take patient's vital signs , goodbye sleepless night if you have many new admissions and need to prepare a complete history taking and mental status examination (MSE). Im so lucky, the MOST new admissions I had was only 2 patients. Yeyy, so I didnt experienced those sleepless night hahah. Thank you for everything psy posting. You will be missed !!!

Jika sesi lepas saya diberi amanah untuk berada dalam Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Universiti Malaya, Sesi kali ini saya diberi amanah pula untuk memegang Jawatan Kuasa Dilantik Kolej Kediaman Ibnu Sina. Satu tahun lagi yang mencabar untuk saya jalankan amanah yang telah diberikan. So this is my team, yang diterajui oleh Izhar atau lebih mesra dengan panggilan Jai sebagai presiden kolej.

Posting B : Acute Care

(Emergency and anesthesiology postings)

For this posting, we were divided into 2 groups, one group will starts with emergency and the other will starts with anesthesiology. Then we change. I started with emergency posting for this first 4 weeks. Di sini lah kami polish our medical knowledge yang dah 2 bulan tinggal, belajar acute management, practice more on physical examination.

Anesth posting ! I loveeee this posting so much

I wanted to learn more about general anesthesia and this was the reason why i choose anesth for my elective posting in Sabah. I love spending my time in the operation theater learn about their induction agents, airway adjuncts, ventilator machines and more. Cuma itu lah, kadang-kadang tu rasa medical students ni menyempitkan bilik OT yang dah sedia sempit tu hahah. mana la asyik tak kena marah dengan nurse OT "MS tepi sikit, pergi duduk jauh sikit nak buat kerja ni"hahaha

I want to be a gas woman one day. Amin Insya Allah. Doakan saya :)

Posting C : ENT and EYE

Macam biasa half of the group will starts with ENT (Telinga, Hidung dan Tekak) and the other half will starts with Eye posting. Posting ENT ni best juga, hari-hari pagi pergi clinic petang pula ada kelas. Oncall dia kena prepare ubat dan bagi ubat dekat patient mengikut jam yang ditetapkan oleh doctor. Nurse ajar prepare ubat, tak boleh ada bubble dalam syringe tu nanti kalau bubble tu masuk dalam salur darah boleh dapat pulmonary embolism lah deep vein trombosis lah. So we all memang struggle waktu nak prepare ubat jangan bagi ada bubble, ketuk2 lah, guling2 syringe lah hahaha.. Kalau termasuk juga bubble dalam salur darah patient, malam tu confirm tak boleh tidur, sebab rasa bersalah kalau mati patient ni habis lah. Esok pagi tu pergi ward check patient tu ada apa2 tak.. punya la takut hahah

To me eye posting not as fun as ENT.

Mungkin sebab clinic dia busy sangat and doctors dont really have the opportunity to teach us during their clinic. Well at least we learned how to use the ophthalmoscope and see what's the normal fundus looks like okay lah tu kan ? (kawan-kawan jadi patient so normal lah haha)

Posting D : Paediatric I

First day in Klang. Super excited to meet those kids in ward. First week tu hari-hari excited pergi ward siap bawa toys box sebab nak main budak2. Pergi ward untuk main. Bila nak kena present case baru kelam kabut nak clerk hahah. Second-third week tu dah ada kesedaran sikit, baru la clerk one or two cases per day huhuh..

Excited jumpa kawan-kawan 'sebaya' lah katakannn. oppsss

Hari Isnin dan Khamis kami akan pergi ke klinik kesihatan untuk ?

untuk bermain lagi dengan budak-budak..hahaha

kali ni main ada lecturer so kena behave sikit.. dekat sini kami belajar tumbesaran kanak-kanak. contohnya angkat kepala how many months, crawl like a commander how many months, says dadadada, and so on. kalau dapat baby yang letak2 je dah nangis you're done !

One of my fav patient, Airil. He's such a nice boy, tak banyak kerenah pun baik je. Nak solat pun kena teman. Katanya cita-cita nak jadi doctor juga. aminn. kakak doakan ye :D

A must activity I wiould say. Tak kisah lah berapa orang pun yang ada main tetap main. Futsal lah, frisbee lah, badminton lah, netball je dyaorg ni tak nak cakap sebab banyak sangat peraturan nak main hahah

My fav girls. Susah senang bersama gituuu..

Posting E : Medicine I

Posting yang paling mencabar so far. Semua system nak kena cover, jangan cakap ward lagi lah. Kompleks wanita dan kanak-kanak je yang tak pergi, yang lain hmm.. penat-penat medicine ni pun best juga sebab dapat belajar banyak.. Dr David dan Dr Khor lah yang banyak guide sepanjang dua bulan ni. EOP medicine dapat case psoriatic arthropathy ! Exam hari jumaat, raya hari ahad guyss. alhamdulillah passed boleh balik raya dengan hati yang gembira walaupun balik malam raya.. syahdu je dengar orang takbir dalam bas huhuh..
